"physically active" activities

Unread post by rontaviv »

Could someone suggest any "physically active" activities that I could do with students (private and groups) as part of their English lesson?

There are lots of physical activities that can be implemented to group of students or individually. Help your students by finding a activity that they enjoys. If you’re teaching actions that can be performed in a small space, this is a perfect opportunity to get your students to act them out. So after teaching your students words such as “jump”, you can ask your students to show you what these words mean.

The are many physical activities you can do with your students to teach them English. For example, you can teach them to ask closed ended questions. make two rows of students in such a way that they face each other. Then ask the students to ask closed ended questions.

Rules: Student A will ask a closed ended question to student B and then Student B has to ask closed ended question to Student A. Then student A will again ask a closed ended question to Student B... it continues like this till the time any of them makes a mistake in forming the question or answers the question. Remember, no answers and only questions and it has to be fast. When a student makes a mistake the student goes and joins back to the end of the row and student C starts playing with student A and it continues like this.

This activity helps students to learn how to ask questions in the right way and its fun.
