Re: English communication
Improving your English communication skills in just one month is a challenging but achievable goal. Here are some practical steps and tips to help you speak basic English sentences more confidently:
1. Set Clear Goals
Identify specific situations where you need to use English (e.g., daily conversations, work, travel).
Set realistic, achievable goals for each week.
2. Daily Practice
Speak Every Day: Dedicate at least 30 minutes each day to speaking English. Practice with a partner, tutor, or even in front of a mirror.
Record Yourself: Record your speech and listen to it to identify areas for improvement.
3. Learn Key Phrases
Focus on learning and practicing common phrases and sentences used in everyday conversations.
Examples: Greetings ("Hello, how are you?"), asking for directions ("Where is the nearest bus stop?"), ordering food ("I'd like a coffee, please").
4. Use Language Apps
Use language learning apps like Duolingo, Babbel, or Memrise to practice vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar.
Apps like HelloTalk and Tandem connect you with native speakers for language exchange.
5. Watch and Listen
Watch English movies, TV shows, or YouTube videos with subtitles. Try to mimic the dialogues.
Listen to English podcasts or songs and repeat the sentences.
6. Join Conversation Groups
Join online or local English conversation groups to practice speaking with others.
Platforms like Meetup and Couchsurfing often have language exchange meetups.
7. Use Flashcards
Create flashcards with common words and phrases. Review them daily.
Apps like Anki can help you with digital flashcards.
8. Learn Basic Grammar
Focus on basic grammar rules, such as sentence structure (subject-verb-object), simple tenses (present, past, future), and common prepositions.
Resources like Grammarly can help you understand and correct your grammar.
9. Practice Speaking with AI
Use AI language models or virtual assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa to practice speaking and getting feedback.
10. Stay Positive and Persistent
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; it’s part of the learning process.
Celebrate small victories and progress.
Sample Practice Routine:
Week 1:
Days 1-2: Learn basic greetings and introductions. Practice saying them aloud.
Days 3-4: Watch short videos and repeat sentences. Practice simple questions and answers.
Days 5-7: Use language apps to practice vocabulary related to common topics (food, directions, etc.).
Week 2:
Days 8-10: Join a conversation group or find a language partner. Practice basic conversations.
Days 11-12: Focus on pronunciation by mimicking native speakers from videos or apps.
Days 13-14: Start recording yourself speaking and listen to identify areas for improvement.
Week 3:
Days 15-17: Learn and practice phrases for specific situations (shopping, travel, work).
Days 18-19: Use flashcards to reinforce vocabulary and phrases.
Days 20-21: Watch a movie or TV show in English and try to follow along without subtitles.
Week 4:
Days 22-24: Engage in daily conversations with your language partner or tutor.
Days 25-26: Review all the phrases and vocabulary you’ve learned. Practice speaking in different scenarios.
Days 27-30: Practice a mock conversation or presentation. Record it and review your progress.
By consistently following these steps and staying dedicated, you can make significant progress in your English communication skills within a month. Good luck!

Practice, practice, practice.
Force yourself to elaborate your answers and to extend conversations with questions.

Re: English communication
Hello,
I think you can improve noticeably in a month just by yourself, but you will have to apply the concept of "deliberate practice"; passively listening podcasts or watching videos won't work in such little time. My recommendations:
Watch a movie or tv show scene by scene. Do it once without subtitles and then ask yourself what have you understood and what not. Watch it again with subtitles and try to hear the sounds you missed the first time. Search in a dictionary the words you didn't know.
Read aloud some speech, paragraph by paragraph, and then listen how the speaker is really pronouncing the words. Read again until you are satisfied(I like jobs' speech in Stanford).
Imagine you are having a conversation and just try to verbalize your thoughts. Record yourself and try to find the mistakes afterwards.

Re: English communication
Sometimes I read aloud. I also repeat phrases from the video and record them on a dictaphone, then listen to them and check whether they sound right (especially if the combination of sounds differs from my native language).

Re: English communication
I do the same thing, but I constantly forget everything I read and listened to. It pisses me off.
