How do I write 'lego blocks' in a piece of writing for kids.

When writing 'lego blocks' how do I write it in the middle of a sentence?

1) lego blocks
2) lego-blocks
3) Lego blocks
4)LEGO blocks

In cases like this it is helpful to refer to the company website to see how they treat their own name and products, for example at the US site:
https://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus

From this it appears that they write their name as LEGO and they would probably write blocks as "blocks". I say "probably" because they actually use the term "bricks":

"As children shape their own worlds with LEGO bricks, we play our part in having a positive impact on the world they live in today and will inherit in the future."

This is only the US website. Other English-language LEGO sites may use other terms and formatting so you may like to check. I must say for me as a native Englishman the term "blocks" doesn't come as a surprise to me, but then nor does the term "bricks" :)

Now, thinking about this...my question is:

When you say you would not be surprised by the words 'lego-blocks', does that mean it is acceptable?


If not, what is the English version of Lego-bricks, with the word 'blocks' (I actually need to keep the word 'blocks')?

Would 'building blocks' or any other 2-syllable version do?

I would say "LEGO blocks" if you wish/need to. No problem there. I don't think it should be hyphenated.

"Building blocks" is fine too, in a more generic context.
