Learning English

Post by Amarantha »

Studying grammar is more important than practising conversation skills in English.

Learning English involves a few steps:
  • Start with Basics: Begin by learning the ABCs, basic words, and simple grammar.
  • Practice Regularly: Use apps, books, and talk with others in English every day.
  • Learn New Words: Add new words to your vocabulary and practice using them.
  • Watch Movies and Shows: Listen to how people speak English in movies and shows.
  • Get Feedback: Talk with others who speak English well and ask for help.
  • Stay Motivated: Keep setting goals and don't give up, even if it's hard.
Remember, learning a new language takes time and effort, but with consistent practice and dedication, you can improve your English skills significantly.

Interesting...

Without conversation, you won't be able to pickup new words and structures naturally. Without grammar, it will be challenging to express yourself correctly.

Despite this, spoken grammar in native English speaking countries aren't the best. Being able to communicate is a lot more important.

I think both learning grammar and practicing communication skills are important and complement each other. However, if you only learn grammar without practicing communication, it will be difficult to be confident when speaking. On the contrary, good communication without a grammar foundation can sometimes lead to mistakes. Balancing both will help us progress faster! Thanks for bringing up such an interesting topic.

In my experience, grammar cann't be applied in practice without a sufficient minimum of words. It all depends on the initial level of language knowledge.

This is nonsense. It is better to be able to communicate in English without grammar.
