I am an English teacher from a Chinese Middle school. I have 31 students(13-14 years old) and their English level is about A2. They are looking for pen pals outside China for cultural exchange. They eagerly want to communicate with others through what they have learn. My students will write about Chinese tradition, art and popular culture. If your class is interested, pease let me know. We welcome students no matter whether they are native English speakers or not.

Hello there,

This website offers a paid service for finding language exchanges. I'm nothing to do with the website but I can say that it has been live for many years now, which is a good sign.

Another idea is to run a pen-pal scheme within your own school. You won't have quite the same cultural exchange but you could have kids look up something typically English and write about it in a letter.

This post has details of how to set up an in-house pen-pal scheme:

I had a pretty similar situation. It just so happens that I'm a single father. There was absolutely no time to teach my son from the word. Fortunately, I was able to come across programs from the wunderkiddy website that had a positive impact on my son's education.
