T.C. Boyle

Post by CravinFood »

Has anyone read 'The Inner Circle' by T.C. Boyle?.... I started reading last week... Its an easy read but I am confused about one thing. It is a fiction about two real people - Alfred Kinsey and Clara (his wife). Now if it is truly fiction, then whatever stuff Boyle is writing about Kinsey and his 'experiments' is nothing but his imagination rite? ... According to Boyle, Kinsey's ideology was that everyone should have sexual liberty to do what they wanted and with whoever they wanted( of course, with consent of everyone who is involved) and religion and culture should not set boundaries in this arena... n thats the reason Kinsey was having affairs with men even when he had happy marriage.... Clara, his wife, seemed to follow that ideology too.... If this is all fiction, then isnt Kinsey's reputation at stake..... I have read Kinsey's work in my psychology classes and his findings did change the way people thought about human sexuality ..... but was he really in his personal life wut Boyle depicted him?

You should get the movie about the Kinseys life for a little insight and I really do not like the writer TC Boyle...he has a morbid imagination in my opinion... and although he has a storytellers talent (he is esy to read) I do not like all the negativity in his work... a novel is not truth so he probably merely embellished the truth of the couples very sexually open lifestyle.

just put in Kinsey in the search box for information.

I would venture to say that there may be better books about them but I am not sure...I just checked and you can buy the movie in amazon for 3.99 plus shipping right now...used that is, I always get great like new products used at amazon...

I have vowed to never read TC ever again, after reading Drop City and Tortilla Curtain....look for other books about the Kinseys or you might check Mr. Boyles book reviews in:

I love literature so much, especially contemporary literature. But I havenot got much time to read. So I usually listen some audio-novels from the web http://www.gutenberg.org. But they are all classic works, I cannot find any book in our time. Can you help me to find them in other web pages?
PS: I have no money to pay for this habit, so help me with free audio books plz
