I have made up the sentences below.
(1a) We will have a meeting from noon to 6pm.
(2a) We will be participating in the competition from noon to 6pm.
Most of my non-native English speaking friends think both are wrong. I have written their revised sentences below.
(1b) We will have a meeting at noon and finish at 6pm.
(2b) We will start participating the competition at noon and finish at 6pm.
I don't know if my friends are correct. Please help me. Thanks.
