who had been

Post by navit »

Are these sentences correct:

1) I talked to him, who had been my co-worker for three years.
2) She was rude to me, who had helped her on many occasions.
3) They criticized him, whom our supervisor had praised.
4) He, whom our supervisor had praised, was the target of their attacks.

Gratefully,

Only 4 (although formal) is fully accepatble for contemporary usage.
(We do not normally make inflected forms of personal pronouns antecedents of relative pronouns.)
