[goes to the kitchen section] or [goes to Kitchen]

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the examples below.

(1) I ask ,"Hi John, Today is my first day. I am not sure where to put these items. Could you please help me?"
John replies, "Yes. They go to Kitchen."

(2) I ask ,"Hi John, Today is my first day. I am not sure where to put these items. Could you please help me?"
John replies, "Yes. They go to the kitchen section."

Most of my non-native English speaking friends think "Kitchen" with the capital K in (1) is correct. However, my other friends don't agree, and they think "the kitchen section" with the lower case k in (2) is correct.

Please give me your opinion. Thank you very much.
