"You couldn't see the grandstand too hot, but you could hear them all yelling, - "
I'm not sure about 'hot' in this sentence. Is that 'hot' to simply refer 'well enough' or '(the grandstand) getting excited, or 'hotties'? How do you think?

Re: Within an ongoing game,
Hi Dingu. This sentence is from 'The Catcher in the Rye', a novel by the US author J. D. Salinger. As a slang/idiomatic word, the adjective 'hot' can mean 'good' or 'very current and controversial' (a hot topic) or sexy. It's unusual to use it as an adverb, but that's what the speaker means here: he can't see the grandstand very well.
