These are really helpful videos in brushing up your grammar

Post by JayCeeBee »

I am an ESL teacher and have noticed that a lot of my students have trouble with prepositions. Especially when it comes to prepositions such as AT, IN, and ON. Every time we have a class, they keep making the same mistakes. It made me think of other ways to help them remember the lessons better.

And I came up with the perfect method to do it. Easy and fun to watch Youtube videos! {-: {-: {-:

I'm still in the process of making more, but if any of you are interested, feel free to check out the channel. It is my hope that they can help you with your English learning journey.

The videos looked good.
An in depth video or video series on the correct use of articles would be good to have. Most of the newcomers I volunteer have problems with theses, Thanks

Correct use of articles? That's a great idea. I'll be sure to make a video of that really soon.
I would love to hear more feedback and suggestions. {-: {-: {-: {-:

Just my opinion, but I found the music a bit distracting. However others might like it.

I think a video on articles would be great as it can get very confusing for learners and is often an area of grammar that advanced learners still have problems with.

Lots of visual comparisons/situations would work well for articles.

Your video was short , sharp and to the point. Other videos sometimes have too much talking or are too cluttered with visual images.
Another video on comparing tenses especially simple past with present perfect.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your feedback. :-) :-)
I'm currently working on a video about articles now.

Regarding the music, do you think it would be better if I used slower-paced music? What about voice-overs?

I thought that the videos would be boring if there were no sounds at all.

It's just my opinion, but I think slower and quieter music would be better. I personally find that loud and fast music can be distracting.

Your visuals are very good and eye catching ; therefore, I don't think you need to entertain students because you will probably already have them engaged.

Regarding voice overs, I think perhaps they might be useful for more complex grammar, but I often find videos have too much talking and not enough pausing to let ideas sink in.

The quiz at the end is a good way to summarize.

Information that is too cluttered on a page with no white space can be overwhelming and off putting, and I think he same applies to videos. Your videos are simple, concise and visually appealing. The type format is also nice and clear and easy to read.

I hope that helps.

I'll keep all of those in mind for future videos. I kind of agree with you about the music. They should be slower.
I'm new to making videos and need to find more music sources that have slow-paced music.

Please, feel free to give me more feedback and reviews if you have more in the future. {-:

Thanks again! :-D

It's part 1 of maybe 2 videos because I felt like it was getting too long and I could not cover everything.
Please, tell me what you think. :)

Hello,

i watched your articles video.

I really liked the pauses which allowed the information to sink in. I also liked the underlining and zooming in and out to emphasize a point.
Nicely paced and great for new learners.

The graphics were excellent and very unique.

The music distracts me, but others might like it. I suppose I could always turn it off.
Please make some more, and an advanced one on articles would be great.
Also, many people get confused with the multiple meanings of modals and so I think a video on that topic would be useful.
