New vocabulary exercise for students

I have a variation on the "What is the missing word" exercise, where one word doesn't match, for example, yellow green blue red black orange horse. This exercise gives students a list of words and they have to find one of the words at the bottom that match the previous seven words. I tried this exercise a few times in my classes and students seem quite interested. Tell me what you think. That is, if anybody is still teaching out there.
