What makes people do so much shopping these days?

First of all, the higher your incomes the more your pay. Because of your higher income, you can afford for what you want, so you will go shopping more. In addition, shopping is a kind of entertainment especially for women. it is so funny that i do shopping whenever I'm tired or sad until I'm broken and then i feel better.
Second of all, the sellers have a lot of ways to attract people to buy products such promotion, after sale services, so on. The buyers feel the products are cheaper, so they are willing to pay whether they need or not.

from my experience, as a married man & a government employee: the credit card facilities makes me do a lot of shopping.
It's true that at these you could find a lot of things you like to buy but without available money, you couldn't buy anything.

According to me, people do a lot of shopping (buying things that aren't necessery at all) because it's a way of trying to get satisfation, apart from their income.
Nowadays people are more and more busy and stressed, and their relationships with others more and more frail and superficial, so they need something that can fulfil their "empty" lives and shopping does this, it makes you feel better (even though for a little).
Moreover, other main reasons that lead to unnecessary shopping are: fashion and advertaising.
Advertising pushes people to need useless things or clothes that not even fit them just because is what the current fashion calls "must have".
As well as this, better life conditions, spreading of cheaper shops, online shops and credit cars make it very easy and within (almost) everybody reach.

Actually I would love to hear words about this issue from people living in other countries besides Korea since Suth Korea is emerging as one of the most "luxury friendly" places in the world as country's growing wealth mixes with arising tide of shopping-minded tourists as various survey shows.

Additionally, a deep tradition of craft-oriented trades in the country has created a respect for very fine products. Also, media reveals the results of the survey that there's many consumers felt a difference in luxury goods from other products in many ways.

So luxury retailers in Sounth Korea drew tourist shoppers from Japan and China in huge numbers during the past year, when the Korean won was sharply lower against other major currencies.

With this atmostphere, people are getting more into buying luxury goods and peopl who are not buying any luxury goods almost feel outcast in the nation.
